November – Have You Given Thanks?

Basic   -
2 Samuel 22:50 “Therefore I will give thanks unto thee, O LORD, among the heathen, and I will sing praises unto thy name.”

Thanksgiving is over and we have much to be thankful for after the Lord has sustained us through so much uncertainty this year. This text above comes to us shortly after God gave Israel victory over the Philistines and David writes this song, which is known as the song of deliverance. It’s very clear that David always recognized when the Lord gave victory because David understood defeat. Victories become sweeter when we understand defeat. Defeat draws us closer to the Lord, sometimes in desperation; so in victory we should make it a habit of giving thanks to the Lord (in everything give thanks).
So today I hope you have given thanks. If you’ve suffered this year, lost this year or hurt this year; give thanks because the Lord is our way out. He is our answer. If you’ve had a victorious year, give thanks because you acknowledge before Him that victory comes only from Him. Never forget to give thanks to God for all that He has done, all that He has brought us through and where He has brought us from…it makes our victories so much sweeter.
