May – Look From Above
In Numbers Chapter 13, God sent the Israelites to spy out Canaan. He took them to the top of the mountain where they were able to look down upon the city. By doing this, the city walls and the giants within were no longer towering above them, every obstacle that they would soon have to face was located beneath them rather than before them. You see, God knows exactly which perspective we need to see from. God tries to quell our fears by allowing us to look at our circumstances from a higher, more complete perspective.
Before you make life altering decisions, before you ever consider quitting, before you allow your circumstance to overwhelm you, ask God to let you see your situation from above. When you view things from above, your obstacles will no longer be right in your face. Sometimes our view can overwhelm us, so He gives us the victory for each battle as we confront it. It is never God’s will for us to try and take the whole city at one time.
So today I want to encourage you to keep yourself from being overwhelmed by asking God to show you your situation from above and not from before you.
Life seems much more possible from that perspective!
