May 2024 – Do You Have Mud in Your Eyes?

Crystal Sturgill   -

Let me begin my reminding us of the challenge of bringing the Israelites out of Egypt. There was obviously a desire because the Lord “heard their cry”. They wanted out but they seemed to be too entangled in the traditions that had been developed over hundreds of years. The contention began immediately while Moses began debating with Pharaoh to “let God’s people go”. As Pharaoh made life more difficult, the frustrations of the Israelites became more surreal and directed at Moses and Aaron. The reality was, even though they had a desire and wanted to be free, they had too much mud in their eyes from their time in Egypt. There was too much of the Egyptian world that they had seen and lived and it robbed them of their ability to see clearly the plan that God had set before them.

God has a plan for each of us but too many times we have the mud (filth) of the world that is impairing our vision and robbing us of our ability to see clearly the will of God. That’s why we become frustrated, that’s why we lose faith and That’s why we question the man of God that he places in our lives. It’s very hard to see clearly the will of God when we continue to see as we always have. My question to you today is, “Do YOU have mud in your eyes”? Are you able to see CLEARLY what God is doing, or are you still seeing as you did when you were in Egypt?
