December 2024 – Keep Loving People
About a week ago the Lord spoke these very words to me. Words that were for another church but stands true for all of us. It may seem as if we don’t need to remind ourselves to keep loving people; however, loving people is not natural and it’s not always easy. It’s natural to love your child, it’s not natural to love your neighbor!
Truth be told, people can be difficult and frustrating. Sometimes you set forth with the best intentions, but over time, frustration mounts and people become more of an irritant than they do a soul. I want to remind you that it’s this time of year when broken families and empty hearts seem to come to the surface; hurting people are going to need more love now than any other time of the year. The church must remain focused on loving people, even if they are difficult.
Jesus was the ultimate example of love. He took time from his ministry to touch people, heal them, minister to them and even raise some from the dead. I believe that these opportunities to do unto others was an opportunity for him to display his love, and no greater love that a man would lay down his life for his friends. You won’t lay down your life unless you love the lost and embrace the cost. So, Keep loving people and don’t let life wear out your ability to love.
