Be Strong
I Samuel 4:9 – Be strong, and quit yourselves like men, O ye Philistines, that ye be not servants unto the Hebrews, as they have been to you: quit yourselves like men, and fight.
Israel brought the Ark of God into their camp and they shouted with a great shout. This caused the Philistines to fear and to begin to doubt themselves. One Philistine spoke up and encouraged the rest to be strong lest they become a slave to Israel. Today, I need to challenge you to be strong when you hear the shout of the adversary in your life. That shout oftentimes sounds like fear, depression or discouragement. If you’re not careful, it will cause you to quit and to run.
If the enemy of Israel could encourage themselves, then we can do as David did and we can encourage ourselves in the Lord. Sometimes you have to talk yourself through and remind yourself that you are a child of God, not a prisoner of the world. You don’t have to be bound by these giants, you can just strengthen yourself through the Lord because of his promises.
I challenge you today, Be Strong! Don’t allow the adversary to intimidate you with a shout. GREATER is HE that is in me than he that is in the world!
